Firebrand Brewing | Helles Beach (4.4%) | Helles Lager | Cornwall
The Brewery: Having started in 2012, Stephen, Joe and the team (including 2 dogs) have recently outgrown the Bodmin converted milking parlor where it all began. Their new space has a stylish taproom overlooking the brewery space where they’re hosting fun events.
The Beer: Firebrand title it as the go-to beer after a surf session and we couldn’t agree more a highly refreshing tasty lager. It has a floral note and an exciting hop flavour for a lager. There’s a hint of citrus in there too making it extra crisp!
Jiddler's Tipple | Bog Standard Lager | Session Vienna Lager (3.8%) | London (Vegan + Gluten Free)
The Brewery: As well as their nifty retro shirt pattern labels - this brewery and its founder Jacob Liddle (The Jiddler) have an incredible story. He launched Jiddler's Tipple in October 2019 to create perfectly balanced, delicious, session strength (3.8%) craft beer and has done just that. Plus they're Carbon Neutral - pretty cool right?
The Beer: Do not be fooled by its name - the 'Bog Standard' is anything but. This sessionable yet flavourful lager has toasty aromas and a hint of earthy spice from the noble hops used. It has a special bitter, dry and moreish flavour that will leave you wanting another.
Keltek Brewery | Swifties Cornish Lager (4%) | Lager | Redruth
The Brewery: Keltek Brewery was formed on the basis of a wager! Back in 1997 Founder & Head Brewer Stuart bet his pub landlord that if he brewed a superior pint it could be put on the pump behind the bar. The brew went well, Keltek was started they've gone from strength to strength.
The Beer: We thoroughly enjoyed all of Keltek’s beers we tried but this one really stood out for us - an easy-drinking crisp Cornish lager with an exciting hop profile coming from hand pitched whole hop flowers. Get the BBQ on and get yourself a Swifties!

The Beer: Porth is cornish for bay, port or harbour, and visitors may recognise this as it features in the names of many iconic cornish spots. As for the beer, the St.Ives team have come up with a wonderfully refreshing Pilsner-style lager. It’s very smooth and the perfect accompaniment to the warm Cornish weather.
